Iman Bowie

iman_06dec_bloodline.jpg

Iman was one of the worlds first ‘African Supermodel’, a stylishly Somali born girl who was recruited by an American photographer ‘Peter Beard’. Iman took the world by storm with her striking features and extremely brown skin.

She attended high school in Egypt, and pursued a Political Science degree at the University of Kenya, Nairobi. A very intelligent & educated model, she is multi-lingual and fluent in five languages.

She is a household name in the modelling/fashion/cosmetic industry, CEO of “Iman cosmetics” a skincare and a fragrance line, her collection boasts of a wide range of perfect skin matching cosmetics products for women of colour.

Iman has since become an active spokes woman for Keep A Child Alive, a foundation project that caters/provides drugs to HIV/AIDS afflicted children and families in Africa and India. Not to mention a very fairly oriented woman of virtue with a heart of gold, she delights pleasure in catering for orphans and under privileged children in her hometown, Somalia.

During her years as a supermodel, she has posed for uncountable top photographers, and now 52 years old, her skin still glows and looks flawless. Her dainty looks still remain untarnished. Her forehead, neck, and high cheekbones are still visible trademarks of this enigma!

She and her family currently live and shuttle between New York and London. She is an Idol for millions of teenage Africans, black and aspiring models including Naomi Campbell, who said “Iman is my inspiration” and is Presently, married to British rock star, David Bowie {Jones}.
