Accessories Report Summer 2009

khumo-moshimane.JPG

I am a firm believer in the power of the accessory to revamp any tired or lack lustre outfit. Here were a few of the pieces we spotted at the Sanlam Shows.Head piecesI was told in a packed room it’s the person wearing the hat that gets most of the attention! I’m not sure how true this is but I did love the hats at guillotine.

Drop earrings Statement Necklaces Note: Although both drop earrings and distinct (large) necklaces are big this season, the rule is generally not to mix the two.  If however you are tempted, do see YSL in our designers section for examples of how best to work it.  ScarvesAs an interesting alternative go for a scarf instead of a necklace. Waist beltsWaists were a definite focal point at Sanlam, a great way to give the illusion of an hourglass frame is too wear belts at true waist point, as seen at the Rubicon and Two shows. - Oyindamola
