After matriculating in 2003, Tanya studied television presenting and drama before starting at LISOF. In her 3rd year she was placed third in the FAD awards. She was one of the six finalists in the prestigious 2008 SSAFW/Elle New Talent competition. Her creative talent has received editorial exposure in magazines such as MTV Fixx, Elle and Dossier as well as Sport & Street Collezioni.
Passions:
Theatre, dance and movement, music, dressing up, architecture, tradition, street culture, photography, vintage, craft, travel.
Summer 2009/10:
A collection redolent of Biblical references such as the ancient, sacred breastplate worn by the Israelite High Priest dating back to about 70 C.E and evocative descriptions of fine woven linen, gold and crimson wool and inlays of gemstones. Silhouettes are translucent, colours are reminiscent of the desert – bleached by the sun and “ turning orange along the rusting rim.” There are elements of chemical reaction.
