Brief Biography
In addition to several shows at Sanlam SA Fashion Week since 2004, Lisa has also showcased her work at the Design Indaba, Nike Design Show and various art exhibitions and installations. She often collaborates with other creatives such as photographers, art directors or digital artists to introduce a multiplicity of visual expression and enhance the story-telling and the socio-cultural messages informing the collections. This allows every day garments to become vehicles of expression apart from their functional role.

Summer 09/10
In search of the grey area. Grey is the dominant colour of summer 2009/ 10. The grey area has always been interesting as it represents the hidden and the “in between”. Grey reflects a mood that is elusive, borderless and difficult to define and that can live between the extremes of black or white. In the grey area categories become unclear. Things become neutral and balanced. This  a-chromatic colour is reflected in Johannesburg’s rain clouds, streets and cityscape.
Garments are carefully detailed and constructed, pleated and draped. The collection is coloured in shades of grey ranging from matt to gloss with placements of vibrant colour to offset a seemingly safe balance .Print motifs hinge on unique shapes that speak of authentication such as fingerprints and signatures underlining the importance of the individual and tribal identity versus the melting pot of modernity.
