Street Stylin’

collage1.jpg

If you are passionate about fashion, then you know there’s more to it than the trends. It’s about individualism, styling and expressing yourself through your clothes. Today, I’ve gathered a couple of people that take a little piece of Africa(n) with them, daily.

Oroma

Hint of Africa: Her Head Tie - Effortlessly Chic.

Meanwhile, What you may have missed:

Make up giant and every girl’s best friend - M.A.C recently went into collaboration with Parisian graffiti artist, Fafi to create the Fafi make-up collection. Inspired by the streets of Japan, Tokyo, Manga and Dragonball, Fafi’s work has an anime/Japanimation feel to it, and befittingly, so do the brightly coloured eye shadows, lipsticks, blushes and make up bags from her M.A.C. range. Think cute looking tag girls with exaggerated features, big eyes and higly sexualized figures. Donning tight dresses, knee-high socks with sneaks, bright hair, extra long lashes and over the top, bright make-up, the Fafinettes (think Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku girls) were Mzansi ‘make-up-nistas’ hosts at the M.A.C. store in Rosebank Mall in Jozi. For a Monday night, the party was fun and intimate, with guests tagging the long black wall outside the store in bright koki colours, drinking beer and eating pizza and burgers (the anti-luxury luxury). Spotted were super stylist, Jenni Andrews, celeb journo, Lesley Mofokeng, Fix from MTV Base and Bonang, Live presenter.
