Estelle Swaray puckers up for HIV/AIDS.
British born senegalese – “Estelle” is an urban R & B singer with a unique flow. In 2003, she hit the music scene and now runs her own record label, Stellar Ents, and has released her own material through this – including the two “Da Heat” mixtapes Part 1 and 2, the album The 18th Day and the singles “1980″, “Free” and “Go Gone”. She featured on Natasha Bedingfield’s song “Drop Me In The Middle” for Natasha’s U.S. release of Unwritten.
In recent years she has successfully crossed the pond making hits in the U.S with record stars like John Legend and Kanye West, and is putting her new found fame to good use with ”Get Lippy“ - A new campaign bringing awareness to HIV/AIDS where ‘Body Shop’ sells a limited edition Guarana Lip Butter to raise money for the Staying Alive Foundation (an MTV foundation).

This is a very good cause, but I would like to encourage people to also consider supporting the AIDS service organization in Guam called the GUAHAN Project (http://www.guahanproject.org/). The GUAHAN Project provides HIV prevention and care services in the U.S. affiliated Pacific region: American Samoa, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Palau, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and Guam. Resources are extremely limited because the Federal Government under resources the region and the annual per capita income is staggeringly low: for example, it is only $2,900 in the Marshall Islands, and $2,300 in the Federated States of Micronesia. For comparison, the U.S. annual per capita income is $46,000. Even a small donation to the GUAHAN Project can make a huge difference in stemming the tide of HIV in these small, culturally rich enclaves that could be destroyed by HIV/AIDS.
