Commuun is Inspired by AFRICA

number6

Kaito Hori and Iku Furudate of Commuun were inspired by Africa and by feminine elegance for their A/W collection 2010. Having selected their models carefully with an all black model-cast. The pair thought it would only be wise  to work exclusively with ebony beauties, and played up the skin tones of the all star cast with a color palette of ash gray, cream, burnt orange, deep gold, and cranberry.

For Commuun’s Fall 2010 show, the designers presented draped one-shoulder cocktails, strapless tops worn with printed skirts, statement overcoats/jackets. All aemphasized with tribal inspired metallic green makeup. The simple, strong shapes of the outerwear mixed with the sensuality of the cocktails made for an effortlessly chic collection, perfectly suited for a graceful African queen
