In the past decade, the presence of Africa-its fabrics & Prints- has been felt on fashions runways worldwide, especially by sought-after designers like Jean Paul Gautier, Cavalli just to name a few. See more from Style.com

With so much African influence on the runway, you might wonder if there are designers that hail from the continent that births so much inspiration. Indeed, there are.     In the past, and in recent times, the world has not given Africa the credit that it deserves in the fashion world, not only for inspiring, but for producing some of the greatest designers in modern fashion history.

    ….now they will be forced to recognize.
