Hannan Saleh

«Photography is a visionary voice that is stronger than words.»

Since she was 8 years old, Hannan knew she had to leave an impression on the world. When she and her family visited Yemen, the imagery of that ancient civilizationit impacted her life forever. Through the years Hanna Saleh has been refining her craft and cultivating her vibrant imagery. Her enchanting photographs are striking and thought provoking. Every photo shot is a creation in which all elements work in harmony. Hannan’s work is a tapestry of culture, fashion, sensuality and spirituality. In 2001, she was awarded an “Arts and Culture:” for emerging Artist by the National Coalition of 100 Black Women. In 2005, she was a first place winner in the “Beauty” competition for fashion photography held by Women in Photography International and most recently in the “Turning Silver” competition. One of Hannan’s photos was chosen to be published in a limited edition book featuring 100 images by women Photographers internationally and held by WIPI. Now in 2007 another image «Vena» was selected for WIPI annual photo competition. Her photography can be found on albums such as «Supa Sista» by Ursula Rucker, «Surrender to Love» , «Far Away» by Kindred, «Luz» by Xande Cruz an «Waking Dream» by Natalie Walker. She worked with renowned artists such as King Britt, Jniero Jarrel and The Roots. She also covered artists such as Natalie Walker and The Noisettes for Trace magazine.

Hannan Saleh is a visionary who  thrives on the spirit in her work. She continues to produce captivating imagery while inspiring those who experience it.
